Episode 01- The 16 years old Man.
When I became a father I was just 16 years old. I wasn't even close to being matured but I was a man. Was a man not because I chose to but because I had to. Sometimes life pushes hard without realizing who is it pushing.
You might be wondering how I became a father. I was 14 years old when my mom died of cancer and my Dad was just arrested for murder. My Aunt, uMaMkhize took us in shortly after the funeral. She meant well by then kanti it was just for the policies money. After that we got hell treatment.
I wasn't the first born, I had a brother who was a junkie and the other who was hustling trying to keep it together. USakhile, the older brother, worked at the mines and he took care of his family. My parents took him out of school when he impregnated some girl and forced him to go to work so he could learn his lesson. Since then he's been a breathing island. Then there's Thabo, the druggie brother, he's been getting a community beating since he was 16 years old and I'm just surprised how keeps doing what he is doing.
Both of my brothers they do not care about us, Me and Sabelo, my sibling who is 8 years old. We eat and clothe from handouts. UMakhumalo, the pastor's widow who my father killed her husband uBabuKhumalo, gives us everything we need.
I was 16 years old, had a crush of course, I was normal irregardless of me not knowing who my real father was. The one that was arrested was relieved from duty the day he overhead the argument between my mom and uMabiyela, the mother of my crush and rich Aunt of our hood. Apparently when my alleged father was away with work, he was a truck driver then, BabuKhumalo became close to my mom and that was few months before I was born.
Wait, what?! So that's why my Alleged father killed uBabuKhumalo. I am indeed a Khumalo. This I must tell my Aunt, she must help me reconnect, actually connect for the first time.
